Vuyiswa is a trustee of The Listen Charity South Africa and has over two decades’ experience in grant giving and the monitoring and evaluation of donor-supported programs. Vuyiswa is the chair of the US-based Africa Grantmakers Affinity Group and the Director of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation in South Africa which she joined in 2005 and where she manages both the foundation’s operations and grantmaking portfolio in South Africa focusing on promoting philanthropy development and strengthening community-based legal advice centers. Previously she was Director of Donor Relations at the then Department of Provincial and Local Government in Pretoria, a program officer for the United Nations Development Programme in Pretoria coordinating technical support to government departments and a program officer at the Sedibeng Centre for Organisational Effectiveness in Johannesburg. She has served on the board of the Construction Industry Development Board in South Africa and holds honors and master’s degrees in biochemistry, and a bachelor’s degree in science all from Wits University in Johannesburg. She also holds various certificates on organizational development and management from various institutions.
