TONY Hollingsworth
Tony Hollingsworth the founder of Listen is also the CEO of Tribute Third Millennium Limited.
(see www.tribute3ml.com) In the last eighteen years he has produced nine of the world’s largest international entertainment television events. Many of these were record-breaking (the Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute in 1988 was and is the world’s largest ratings entertainment broadcast ever), some were historic (such as The Wall – Live in Berlin) and all were unique (for instance, The Great Music Experience – Japan). Three of these were in response to communication briefs provided by governments and consumer brands, three were for causes (two at Tony’s initiative) and three were commercial initiatives taken by Tony. Each was structured as a communication or marketing campaign.
All of these projects were produced under the banner ‘Tribute,’ Tony’s executive producing vehicle. Each was a completely new business with revenues of about $20m (at present-day values). All produced creatively successful broadcasts and sell-through products, and all achieved their communication and marketing objectives. Alongside this commercial success, the cause-related events generated $20m for charities.
